Jonathan McLean (fifth grade science teacher) wants his students in his science class to succeed. He tries very hard to help them learn all they can. So, it was his desire to get the best scores out of his class for the TAKS test. To inspire them, he makes a deal that he will go up on the roof top of the school for the day if eighty percent of the class passes the TAKS test. Well, the class did it again and it was back up on the roof for McLean.

Any new technology to help the school or any new program to help the students learn is what David Delbosque (Avalon ISD Superintendent) wants for Avalon ISD. When DelBosque did some investigating on wind turbines and found out how they can save money on the electric bill, of course he wanted the wind turbine for Avalon ISD.

Ice cream, games and bubbles-sounds like a kid’s party. Not really, if you are a senior at Italy High School, these are just some of the items you will need for the beginning of fun. Last week was the kick off for the senior parties hosted by some of the churches in town. The First United Methodist Women gave an ice cream party in the honor of the graduating class.

Blame it on the freshman and junior classes. They seem to be the cause for Milford’s high numbers of advancement in UIL academics and track. Although there were fewer participants in UIL academics this year, almost 86% placed in district or advanced to regional competition.
