The annual George Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund barbecue dinner will be held Friday, October 25, 2013 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Italy High School Cafeteria. Cost for the meal is $10 per person.The meal will be catered by Bubba’s of Ennis.

Susan Jacinto is now teaching second grade at Milford Elementary. She is very happy to be there and is truly enjoying her students. This is her 22nd year of teaching school and she just loves teaching students new things.
Italy ISD offers services to gifted and talented students in a variety of formats. If your student is not currently identified as gifted and talented, and you believe that your child shows these tendencies, then you may nominate him/her for the screening process which is divided into three elements: standardized test of mental ability, teacher judgment based on observation and characteristics, and standardized achievement test scores (if available).
When Michael Chambers graduated from Italy High School in 1994, little did he know he would be back full time in 2 years. He loved going to school here, but he thought like most graduating seniors, it was time to move on. That changed when he was offered a job at Italy ISD.

Grandparents Day was celebrated at Avalon Elementary on Friday, the 6th of September. Apparently, Avalon Elementary student’s grandparents take this day very seriously! There were so many grandparents they had to have two rooms to hold them all.
Elsabe Munger is no stranger to Avalon Elementary. She was a substitute teacher last year and this year she is the 2nd grade teacher. She is so excited, it is her first time to teach 2nd grade.

Last Thursday evening the Avalon Elementary was over flowing with excited students waiting to see who their teacher was going to be and which friends were going to be in their class. Students were lined up in the hallway with back packs and school supplies ready to be back in class after a long summer.
